TDWR Trigger Record

This is a again a very simple mission to show how you can use RTSA-Suite Pro to trigger on signals and record the samples to a file. This missions is using the V6 Plus to cover all TDWR channels (120, 124 and 128) and works well if you do not have any access-points using these channels.

Each spectrum condition is placed such as a signal like a radar pulse (seen below) will be recorded to a file if you enable the File Writer. I have also made a IQ file of a real weather radar that can be downloaded below.

Block Diagram

Block diagram is very simple, it uses the V6 Plus or Eco that sends IQ to be converted to Spectra, this is then sent to the Spectrum Condition block (read more about this block here). It then sends the live spectra to a waterfall block, and filtered data to a different waterfall.

File Writer block will only record filtered data since it is connected to the filtered output.

How the mission works

Three condition blocks, and signal will turn yellow and be recorded if it enters one of the blocks.

Inside the Spectrum Condition block you have a lot of settings to tweak this mission to only record if there is a minimum of x % for example, and you can build automatic spectrum masks.

I recommend reading about the block here - https://v6-forum.aaronia.de/forum/topic/spectrum-condition/

Download a sample file, to see how it works.

First remove the hardware block, add a file reader block and load a small sample file of the Hurum Weather Radar below.

When you load the file, it will look like this. Loop the file to simulate the radar pulse more often.

Now that you got this file, try and load in the mission below, just remember to add the IQ Power Spectrum block as seen in the picture. Here you can play a bit with the RBW size for the file.

This is how the mission will look like with a 1k FFT size! Pretty cool!
